  2. This mischievous three-piece is fronted by ringmaster and frenetic vaudevillain Kurt Schindelka on searing vocals, guitar and saxophone.

In-house wizard/madman Daniel Deorksen applies crisply deafening finesse to the drums, bringing the thunder and howling at the moon.  Mortals may know him from his own magnificent jazz-rock orchestra, Two Apple Tobacco.

Also from TAT, bass-player Jordan Kling swoops through the depths of Top Hat Goblins, his melodic stylings providing bottomless magic and fiendish funk.

A veteran professional musician in his own right (he is also the composer, lead guitarist and co-founder of the dark-horse jazz-rock orchestra, Two Apple Tobacco), Daniel brought a deep toolbox of experience and craftsmanship to the collaboration that ensued.

Fast-forward through a few months of song-sculpting and jamming, and Daniel called on his high school friend and Two Apple Tobacco co-founder Jordan Kling to fill out the bottom end as bass-man extraordinaire .  Top Hat Goblins had emerged!

Now having released their debut EP, Top Hat Goblins are ready to take things to the next level, planning an aggressive booking campaign over the next year, gearing up for a run at the festival circuit.  Keep your ear to the ground for the next Top Hat Goblins show... you won’t want to miss out!

  4. Top Hat Goblins are making it their business to set a new standard for Vancouver bands.   Though relatively new to the scene, they have already turned heads with their unique brand of cabaret funk-rock.

Funk, reggae, rock, jazz and musical theatre – they use it all, and the inventiveness doesn’t end when the songs have been penned.  Costumes and makeup are on the menu, and they hit the stage with all the energy of a    rock opera.

Kurt Schindelka, singer and guitarist/saxophonist, had already been involved in many different rock, blues and funk projects when he decided to add theatre acting to his resume.  It was through theatre that he met Goblins drummer and singer Daniel Deorksen, then in  his capacity as Musical Director/Co-Producer of       Seven Tyrants Theatre Society.                                                                                                                                                             cont....
